Collaboration with Fedrigoni. Constellation Calendar 2018

The project, in a limited edition, has been presented in recent weeks, which has seen the LABA Graphic Design students take care of the graphic part.Ā

A calendar of 18 months, in 50 x 70 cm. format, which seals the ten-year collaboration between Laba and Fedrigoni.

The new Fedrigoni “Constellation 2018” calendar has been officially presented over the past few weeks, specially designed and created to accompany the release of the brand’s new card collection. A project that enhances the potential of new embossed surfaces – able to transmit tactile and visual perceptions – and that has made the students of the LABA of Florence protagonists.

About twenty young Laba creatives, coordinated by the teachers Marco Paoli and Arianna Tonarelli, have in fact taken care of the graphic part: last year didactic, through a series of meetings and revisions with the manager of the Florence branch Stefano Sardelli, students worked on the theme of the product, developing a design that enhances the merits of paper. So a fresh and essential graphic proposal was born, which plays with the images of ordinary people who wear trendy looks: the focus is deliberately focused on clothes and not on faces, which do not appear. The result has a strong impact: embossing enriches and animates the drawings, bringing out the textures of the fabrics, the thickness of the materials and the movement of the figures from the sheet.

The calendar – which was highly appreciated during the company presentation, in November – is limited and exclusive. There are only 220 copies.

“The boys were enthusiastic and happy to get involved in this field – underlines professor Marco Paoli -. They have been professional, both in the selection of the best ideas and in the following phase, of development of the chosen theme. The product is excellent from a graphic point of view and fully demonstrates the successful collaboration with a leading and prestigious brand such as Fedrigoni.”

The partnership between the Laba of Florence and Fedrigoni will also continue in the New Academic Year 2017/2018, continuing to mark an important point of contact between the world of education and that of companies.
