The title of the meeting is:Ā “Transforming a large museum, to what future?”.Ā The art historian will be a special guest of the Laba on next Thursday 15 of March.Ā LABA‘s students will talk about the management and enhancement of museums through the experience of the Uffizi and cultural promotion strategies.
A precious opportunity for training and exchange for the students: the Uffizi represent an institution of international importance and one of the most visited museums in the world. According to Mibact data, in 2016 the gallery was chosen by over 2 million visitors, behind only the Colosseum and the Pompeii Excavations.
“We are proud to host in our Academy the director of one of the most important museums in the world and to make the organization and the internal functioning of the institution more relevant to our students – comments Florence LABA’s director, Mauro Manetti – We appreciate the work of valorization of the Uffizi carried out in these years by Eike Schmidt and I am sure that from this date our students will be able to draw important inputs”.
