The Master’s in Packaging Design is an interdisciplinary course born from the longstanding collaboration between LABA and the paper group Fedrigoni Group.

The packaging design is a complex and multi-faceted discipline that involves research on materials, printing and finishing technologies, packaging and logistics processes, as well as regulatory and communication issues. Despite the importance of these skills, the educational offerings in Italy are still limited. To address this challenge, LABA Firenze and FEDRIGONI Group, a leader in the specialty paper industry for publishing and packaging, have created the 1st Level Master’s in Packaging Design.

The Master’s program is aimed at three-year or master’s degree graduates who are interested in packaging design. The objective is to provide strategic, design, and production skills in the field of packaging design, with a focus on the economic and environmental sustainability of predominantly cellulose-based materials. The teaching methodology includes lectures, practical workshops, industry professional interventions, and company experiences to train professionals in various sectors related to packaging.

The study program also includes internships at affiliated institutions, offering employment opportunities in graphic design studios, communication agencies, food & beverage companies, fashion and design industries, as well as paper manufacturing facilities.
