ACADEMIC COURSE IN GRAPHIC DESIGN & MULTIMEDIA

The Graphic Design & Multimedia major of LABA in Florence is designed according to the Ministry’s new academic system (3+2). At the end of the first three years of studies, the student receives the ‘Diploma Accademico di 1° Livello’ (equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree).

The course prepares the students to work in the graphics sector and involves the acquirement of skills in printing, publishing and web design.

It addresses the various aspects of all-round Multimedia Graphics, thereby ranging from advertising to directing, as well as those relating to video-making and digital design.

Web Designer

Creatively designs user-oriented websites, implementing Web Design and Information Architecture skills and providing functional as well as aesthetic solutions.

Graphic Designer

Designs graphic solutions, from the initial ideation phase to the final realisation phase, combining the knowledge of traditional methods with that of new digital media. A professional figure that with the added value of creativity finds solutions in the field of communications, from packaging to coordinated image for companies.

Video Maker

Designs videos, supervising everything from image acquisition to editing of transitions, graphic effects and sound design. Also designs musical videos for creatives, artists and companies.

Art Director

The figure of reference for corporate communication. Has marketing and management skills that allow him/her to provide added value towards the clientele’s optimal sensorial perception of products and services.

EDITORIAL DESIGNER

The professional figure that operates innovatively, blending traditional graphic knowledge with the use of professional software and digital media. The editorial designer is capable of interfacing knowledgeably with the client and of finding solutions to emerging technical and production problems.
